Lose the Boredom, think outside the box for Fat Loss Results

If you’re anything like me you have a little bit of what I call exercise ADD. I have to like what I’m doing when it comes to exercise and that involves, having fun doing it, and getting results at the same time. Now don’t get me wrong there are specific protocols that need to be met to achieve results, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun and a little ‘off the wall’ to your typical training.

Please don’t try this at home

I definitely use dumbbells and my own bodyweight for my training, but I also love to mix it up and use tools like, tires, sledgehammers, ropes, sleds, chains, rings, and of course kettlebells. That’s just to name a few. These tools offer a tremendous variety in your training and can bring a sense of excitement to your exercise sessions. Perhaps the most appealing part of training with these or other portable tools is the ability to train outdoors, or anywhere for that matter.

Your environment can change daily and your tools can change daily. No more ball and chain feeling to cardio machines and weight machines that are so boring you want to pull your hair out.

With the right instruction, these tools can be used for almost anyone, and offer a tremendous alternative that can bust through any plateau, or any mental or physical staleness that will or has inflicted you. I mean, think about it, if you have been doing a leg press for 6 months religiously try flipping a tire or performing sandbag squats . Or maybe its learning a new movement like kettlebell swings or Battle Rope exercises.

One of the few rules I live by is to avoid doing things you don’t like doing. I got to the point where I didn’t like doing the ‘regular’ routine and needed a drastic change before my mental staleness took over and self-sabotage of missing workouts and eating unsupportively took over. It wasn’t until I looked outside the gym that I realized there was a whole new world of training that I was missing out on. It has allowed me to continue training and striving toward goals while honestly loving every minute. It just might be the remedy you are looking for too.
