What do you do when it all seems to be falling apart?

This time of year is notorious for many people falling off their nutrition and exercise resolutions.  It gets overwhelming and bad habits creep up again and regain control.  If you fee like you are wandering down that path or even teetering on the edge of falling apart, there are a few things that you can do to regain your drive, determination and desire to achieve what you set out to do in the first place.

The first thing you MUST do is to take it one step at a time.  If you are missing workouts, schedule them.  If you feel you are too busy for a 10 minute workout, then you must go back to the drawing board and reconsider your reason for making these changes in the first place (your goal and roadmap).  If you find yourself making unsupportive nutritional options, take it one meal at a time, or even better, one day at a time so you can stick to a plan all day and feel successful.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the things that go into a successful fat loss plan.  Focusing on three tasks at a time helps disperse the stress and makes the list much more feasible to complete.  When you take it ‘three at a time’ , your subconscious mind sees it as doable and you will immediately feel more positive about the lifestyle change you are making.  If you are close to the edge of falling completely off task and reverting back to old habits, make your list very easy and simple at first, so you can feel successful sooner.  This will allow you to ‘step away from the edge’ and get back into the new habits you had been creating.  If you feel you are getting closer to the edge, you can make your tasks slightly more complex but also able to be completed in about a week’s time with consistency.

We have to face the fact that these bumps in the road will always be present.  How we combat these bumps, will ultimately determine whether or not we are successful with our lifestyle change and creating new habits.  The successful individuals have mastered this and that is there secret.
